What you'll learn

  • How Ask uses your connected data sources
  • Asking open-ended vs. specific questions
  • Using @mentions to target specific experts or data
  • Interpreting evidence and tracing claims back to the source

What is Ask?

Ask is Nole's conversational AI interface. Type a question in plain English and Nole will:

  • Search your connected data (HubSpot, Slack, Jira, etc.)
  • Synthesize insights from live data
  • Answer with evidence attached (links back to the original source)

You can ask about:

  • Business questions ("Which deals closed this month?")
  • Team insights ("Who's our top closer?")
  • Technical questions (for engineering teams)
  • Support questions ("How do I use X?")

Asking Good Questions

Open-ended: "What's happening with our support volume?" — Nole will find trends and anomalies.

Specific: "How many deals did Alice close in June?" — Nole will fetch the exact number.

Ask a follow-up: "What's the win rate?" — Nole remembers context and refines.

Use @mentions: Type @ to mention a person, deal, or expert. E.g., "@Alice's activity" or "@Revenue expert".

Evidence & Sources

Every answer comes with evidence. At the bottom, you'll see:

  • Sources cited — which HubSpot deals, Slack messages, or Jira tickets
  • Confidence — how sure Nole is (High / Medium / Low)
  • Links — click to jump to the original source

If the evidence doesn't match the answer, you can flag it or start over with a new question.

Live Providers

Ask uses "live providers" — real-time data from your connectors. For example:

  • HubSpot live — fetch live deal status, contact info, notes
  • Slack live — search recent messages, thread context
  • Calendar live — see upcoming meetings for attendees

This means Ask always has fresh data, not stale snapshots.
